Cyanotype print Silk Square Small
Pure silk squares in chiffon crepon . Embroidered with dots embroidery around all four edges , dark tones on one side , light on the reverse . Edges raw finish .
After embroidery the squares have been cyanotype printed using real pressed leaves and plants . Cyanotype is an ancient form of printing using sunlight .
Mostly I use white silk but it is intriguing to use other colour bases like the fuschia pink in a couple of examples , I have also used a lime yellow in other size squares , see separate product pages .
Here you can find a couple of pieces that I have overdyed the blue & white cyanotype using black tea , the Gingko and the Lupin.
Each square is entirely unique and like all my eco-print articles I do not make to order but produce for the shop .
