Patrizia blouse
The Patrizia polo blouse began as a night shirt . The pure batista cotton is very lovely , the bodice and collar are in broderie anglais ,trimmed with cotton lace . The short puffed sleeves have an elasticated cuff with frilled hem .
This is how I changed this piece. I have shortened the body length , leaving a nice 4cm deep hem . This has created an A-line body shape . For the dots embroidery I have chosen the darkest tones of cashmere , black , navy , brown and green . Embroidered over the broderie , following the pattern of the lace , dots form flower shapes and vertical rows .
I have exchanged the original tiny white buttons for grey mother of pearl ones , and I have added a few extra to create more depth and detail . The single broderie collar was trimmed with a narrow white cotton border which I have un-stitched and replaced with a navy blue one and it gives the collar more structure . Look how it stands up on its own .
